Nie znosi bezposredniego slonca. U mnie ma polnocne okno, ale przy samym oknie. Wszedzie czytam, ze one zimuja w chlodniejszej temperaturze i wskazana jest tempratura rzedu 18 stopni, a koncem zimy wrecz kolo 13, wtedy ladnie kwitna.

"Aeschynanthus are commonly found in hanging baskets that best display their trailing stems and vibrant red flowers. Popularly known as Lipstick Vine, Lipstick Plant, Basket Vine or Basket Plant, Aeschynanthus displays unique leathery textured leaves and can produce flowers that can grow three inches or more in length. The distinctive appearance of this plant makes it quite popular to plant enthusiasts unfortunately they tend to not flourish in standard room conditions.

SOIL

The soil used for an Aeschynanthus should be nutrient-rich, well-draining compost. A combination of soil and peat will aid in keeping the soil moist or using a soil designed for African violets.

TEMPERATURE

Temperature and humidity are the two main requirements in having an Aeschynanthus that flourishes. Because this plant is considered a tropical plant (native to parts of Asia), humidity is a key element in the growth of the plant. During the summer months, Aeschynanthus? require above average warmth but needs to be kept cooler in the winter months, approximately 55 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit.

High humidity is a necessity for these plants. Spray misting can help with humidity levels but will need to be done regularly. Placing the plant in a shallow container filled with gravel and water will also add to the humidity levels however, the roots should not come in contact with the water in the container. An air humidifier can be utilized to add to a room?s humidity level which can replace having to misting the plant as frequently.

WATER

Using only tepid water, Aeschynanthus need to stay moist but not water-logged. During the growing season (spring to late autumn), water frequently then cut back on the amount of water used during the winter months. This plant requires a ?resting? period during the winter in order to provide healthy blooms each year.

LIGHT

Aeschynanthus should be kept in bright, filtered light but kept away from direct sunlight. During the winter months, the plant will still require bright light and should be placed in an area that allows the Aeschynanthus to get light but not get too hot.

REPOTTING

Repotting should be done at least every three years. Propagation can be done when repotting or each spring using a rooting hormone and bottom heat.

CARE

Aeschynanthus may produce an array of blooms and appear lush one year and then fail to yield any flowers the following year. This can be sign that the plant didn?t receive an appropriate ?resting? phase during the winter months. During the summer months (June to September), Aeschynanthus need high levels of humidity in order to produce the vibrant blooms that the plant is known for. When the summer/fall season has ended and the plant has stopped producing flowers, trim the stems back especially if the plant appears untidy.

Aeschynanthus can be fertilized with a liquid soluble fertilizer that has been diluted down from the package directions but should be omitted during the winter months. With some extra care, Aeschynanthus will produce lush foliage and beautiful blooms that will certainly add color and interest to your home decor."

Oj, jak zobaczyłam "Iwona" - to się przestraszyłam, że coś znów nabroiłam...dzięki Iwono - zobaczę jak to wygląda "w dorosłości" ;)

E, gdzie tam mnie się Twoje roślinki kojarzą z ładnymi roślinkami

Ostatni na bank koleus, ale mnie nie pytajcie jaki - widze ze ladny.
H. compacta jest na liscie moich zachciewajow. Tak miedzy innymi.

Co do mgiel to jakos nie bardzo to widze tutaj. Jednak Trent nie Tamiza, Keadby nie Londyn, choc wiele jest podobienstw bo i my mamy cofki na rzece zwiazane z plywami na morzu, mieszkamy nad rzeka itd., ale jednak rzeka wezsza, wiec powierzchnia parowania mniejsza, a do samego morza chyba jednak dalej niz z Londynu. Dosc ze nie widze tu wiecej mgiel niz w Polsce. A ogrzewanie w domu elektryczne.

Calathea Network jest śliczna i taka duża już . A koleusa też mam takiego, bardzo szybko się ukorzenia

Oj, prawda... Moje staly i jednego dnia wieczorem nie bylo jeszcze nic, a nastepnego juz miotly w wodzie. Latwo im to idzie.
